Pentagon Finally Ends COVID Vax Mandate

The Pentagon has ended their COVID-19 mandate as it relates to the Armed Forces.

Representative Chip Roy (R.TX), posted the official memo to Pentagon leaders on Twitter Tuesday night. The memo contains the following: Secretary of Defense Officials are praised for their efforts in fighting the virus throughout the pandemic. It also explains why COVID protocols were rescinded.

Section 525 (NDAA FY 2023) requires me to rescind my August 24, 20,21 memorandum that mandated members of the Armed Forces to be vaccinated for COVID-19. “Mandatory Coronavirus Disease 2019 Vaccination of Department of Defense Service Members.” I hereby cancel the memorandum.

The Pentagon also removed the same mandate from the National Guard and Ready Reserve members.

This memo states that Armed Forces members who refuse to receive the vaccine will not have any. “adverse actions” If they request reprieve based upon religious liberty,

The Secretaries will keep the Military Departments’ records current, including any letters of reprimand. The Secretaries will also cease all ongoing reviews of Service members religious, administrative or medical accommodation requests, except for the exemption from COVID-19 or appeals of denials.

Roy called Roy to report the move “an important step,” However, he stressed that there is still much to do. For now, people who were previously dismissed because they refused to take the vaccine will be able to have their records corrected to correct any negative language or characterizations. It is not known if members of the Armed Forces who were unfairly dismissed will have a pathway to return to service.

For now, people who were previously dismissed because they refused to take the vaccine will be able to have their records updated to correct any negative language or characterizations. It is not known if members of the Armed Forces who were unfairly dismissed will have a pathway to return to service.

As Streiff, RedState writer, points out This is not about a vaccine. It is time to hold those responsible for the terrible treatment of our servicemen who tried to serve their country and protect our sovereignty accountable.

The Department of Defense is now unaccountable. The new Republican House should take steps in order to prevent the problem from getting worse. The next Republican president must take a page from George C. Marshall’s playbook, ignore rank and seniority, and immediately fill the military’s upper ranks with men focused on fighting and winning wars instead of the princely class that runs the Pentagon today.
