Patrick Mahomes, the talented 27-year-old quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, firmly believes in the power of having a strong woman by his side. He attributes much of his success, both personally and professionally, to his wife Brittany. In an interview with People at the premiere of his new Netflix documentary series, “Quarterback,” Mahomes expressed his gratitude for his wife’s support.
Mahomes acknowledges that Brittany plays a crucial role in his life. “She helps me out a ton by taking stuff off my plate,” he said. “I have great people around me, and I can be myself, the same person I’ve always been. Luckily, that person has won a couple of Super Bowls.”
The couple, who tied the knot in July 2022, are proud parents to a daughter named Sterling Skye, aged 2, and a son named Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III, who is eight months old. Mahomes and Brittany first met in high school in Texas and even attended prom together in 2013.
While Mahomes pursued a career in the NFL after college, Brittany also excelled in her own athletic endeavors. She signed a professional soccer contract with a team in Iceland.
As a father, Mahomes strives to set a positive example for his children. He wants them to understand that hard work and determination are key to achieving their dreams. “When dad’s not home, he’s out there working hard to achieve his dream,” Mahomes shared. “I want them to know that they can go out there and chase their dreams and still have a great family at home.”
Brittany also had nothing but praise for her husband, commending his ability to balance his work and personal life. “He has a soft spot, but I think he’s done such an amazing job at balancing his work life and his at-home life,” she said. “He’s really switched around his priorities and figured it out.” She affectionately referred to him as “the best father ever.”
