Pam Bondi and Kash Patel Hire a Co-Deputy Director of the FBI
Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey has been appointed as co-deputy director of the FBI, starting his new role on September 8, 2025. Bailey expressed pride in accepting the position and gratitude too President donald Trump and attorney General Pam Bondi for the opportunity to serve in the mission to “Make america Safe Again.” He emphasized his commitment to protecting America and upholding the Constitution.
Bailey joins Dan Bongino, who currently serves as the other deputy director of the FBI. This new leadership alignment is part of President Trump’s administration efforts to focus on prosecuting criminals, deporting illegal immigrants, and holding corrupt politicians accountable. FBI Director Kash Patel and Attorney General Bondi praised Bailey’s distinguished record as a state attorney general and decorated war veteran, highlighting his experience and dedication.
Bailey’s appointment follows previous considerations for him to become U.S. Attorney General under Trump. He acknowledged serving Missouri as an honor throughout his career and reaffirmed missouri as his home despite moving to a federal role. The new co-deputy director role is part of the administration’s broader initiative to strengthen federal law enforcement leadership and advance Trump’s agenda.

Dan Bongino is serving as deputy director of the FBI.
Last month, he distanced himself from the Justice Department and Attorney General Pam Bondi over the handling of the Epstein files. On Tuesday, it was not clear who will do what under the new alignment.
Bailey had been under consideration by President Donald Trump to serve as his attorney general, according to the Missouri Independent.
A report from Fox News said that a senior administration official told the network that Trump “wants to see bad guys prosecuted, illegals deported, and corrupt politicians held accountable.”
“We need all hands on deck to accomplish all of these important goals,” the official said.
“Andrew Bailey will serve as another set of credible, experienced hands to help Attorney General Bondi and FBI Director Patel carry out the President’s mission.”

Bailey said he will begin his new role on Sept. 8, according to a news release on his website.
