According too reports, Pakistan violated a ceasefire agreement with India just hours after U.S. officials announced it. Omar Abdullah, the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, highlighted this breach, indicating that explosions were heard in Srinagar, the region’s main city.He questioned the effectiveness of the ceasefire after witnessing blasts and sirens. The ceasefire was declared shortly after President Donald Trump facilitated discussions between the two nuclear nations, aiming for a “FULL AND IMMEDIATE” cessation of hostilities. This violation has raised significant tensions, especially after previous hostilities had resulted in the deaths of approximately 48 individuals and involved intense aerial confrontations. The longstanding conflict between India and Pakistan continues to create uncertain and dangerous situations in the region.

Pakistan appears to have broken a ceasefire with India mere hours after U.S. officials announced the two countries had agreed to one.
Omar Abdullah, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir where the fighting is taking place, said he heard explosions in the area. He also posted a video of the city with blasts being heard in the background and wrote, “This is no ceasefire. The air defence units in the middle of Srinagar just opened up.”
That post followed another where he sounded the alarm about explosions being heard, saying, “What the hell happened to the ceasefire? Explosions heard across Srinagar!!!”
Locals have reported sounds of sirens and explosions, while drones have been seen in a number of areas within the Jammu and Kashmir regions such as Pargwal, Ramnagar, Kanachak, and Akhnoor.
The ceasefire was reportedly violated around 2 hours and 45 minutes after President Donald Trump said the two nuclear powers worked out a “FULL AND IMMEDIATE” ceasefire after Pakistan launched earlier attacks on India earlier Saturday. Both countries had also said they agreed to a ceasefire.
India struck several areas described as “terrorist infrastructure” on Wednesday after it blamed Pakistan for an attack on Hindu tourists. India has maintained that its attack was retaliation for the deadly attack last month in Indian Kashmir.
Pakistan has denied India’s claim that it was involved in the terrorist attack. About 48 people have been killed since Wednesday, and the two countries also engaged in one of the largest arial dogfights since World War II involving 125 fighter jets Thursday.

The two countries have a long, contentious history since they each gained independence from Great Britain in 1947.
