Iran’s oil refinery engulfed in flames
An Oil Refinery in Iran Engulfed in Flames and Explosions
An oil refinery located in Iran experienced a devastating incident over the weekend, resulting in multiple massive explosions. The refinery, situated in the Birjand special economic zone in eastern Iran, saw all 18 of its reservoirs catch fire, as reported by the state-run Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA).
The initial stages of the fire consumed a staggering 1.5 million liters of fuel, according to Iranian officials. The situation was deemed too perilous for firefighters to approach and attempt to extinguish the flames, leading Iranian authorities to consider letting the fire burn itself out, as reported by The Jerusalem Post.
At present, the cause of the fire remains unknown, and Iran has refrained from assigning blame for the incident. However, it is worth noting that this incident occurred amidst a series of attacks on Israeli shipping vessels by Iranian-backed terrorists in Yemen. These attacks have caused significant damage to the ships and even resulted in the hijacking of one vessel.

Yahya Sare’e, a spokesperson for the Houthi terrorists, stated that any ship bound for Israel or associated with Israel would be considered a legitimate target for their armed forces. The Houthi terrorists are determined to obstruct the delivery of food and medicine to the Gaza Strip.
