Ohio school district spent $24,000 to conceal children’s ‘gender transitions’ from parents: Report

The Biggest School District in Ohio Spends Thousands on Controversial Presentation

The Columbus City Schools, the largest school district in Ohio, recently made headlines for spending over $24,000 on a presentation that has sparked controversy. According to a report obtained through a public records request, the presentation, held from Sept. 22-23, 2022, was conducted by Q-inclusion, now known as Hey Wes.

The report revealed that the presentation advised teachers on how to handle students’ gender transitions without involving parents. It recommended keeping a student’s new gender identity private and creating a confidential file within the student’s records. The presentation emphasized using the affirmed name, regardless of the legal name, on all paperwork and printed materials.

The school district paid a total of $24,200.83 to the consultants for this presentation, raising eyebrows among parents and the community.

During the presentation, a thought-provoking image called the “Wheel of Power/Privilege” was shown. This image depicted different categories, including gender, language, sexuality, and wealth, with “Power” at the center. The presentation also discouraged the use of terms like “boys and girls” when addressing a class.

This controversy comes at a time when tensions between parents and school systems are high. In 2022, the Washington Examiner obtained a presentation from Fairfax County Public Schools, which informed students of their “right” to “non-disclosure” regarding their gender identity.

The Washington Examiner reached out to Columbus City Schools for comment, but no response has been received yet.
