Maryland authorities on Tuesday confirmed a suspect and an officer were shot during an active shooting incident in Baltimore.
An officer was also shot during the shooting. Baltimore police said the incident “was NOT at a synagogue or religious institution,” in comments to Fox News Digital.
Earlier reports suggested that the shooting was near the synagogue or a nearby Jewish high school.
“BPD is on the scene of an Active Shooter Incident in the 6200 block of Parl Heights Avenue. An officer has been shot & transported to Shock Trauma. A suspect was also shot. Avoid the surrounding areas. More information will be provided as it becomes available,” authorities wrote in a post to X.
The Baltimore Police union said of the situation that “all involved members are in good spirits.”
“We are aware of the police involved shooting in the NWD. President Mancuso and State Trustee Cohen are at homicide with our involved members while Guard Glazerman is at Shock Trauma,” the union’s statement added.
