NRCC unveils inaugural video in ‘majority makers’ series.

The National Republican Congressional Committee Highlights Rep. Zach Nunn in “Majority Makers” Series

The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) has launched its exciting new video series, “Majority Makers,” which showcases Republican members crucial to maintaining the party’s majority. The first member to be featured is freshman Rep. Zach Nunn (R-IA).

Rep. Nunn, who successfully flipped a seat in Iowa last year, holds a vulnerable position. However, his unique background and experience make him an exceptional candidate. Prior to his political career, Nunn served in the Air Force and held the position of director of cybersecurity policy for the National Security Council under President Barack Obama.

A Remarkable Journey of Service

After his tenure at the National Security Council, Nunn served in the Iowa House from 2015-2019 and the Iowa Senate from 2019-2023. In the 2022 elections, he faced off against former Rep. Cindy Axne, the sole Democrat in Iowa’s congressional delegation at the time. Nunn’s victory in this closely contested race, with a margin of just over 2,000 votes, solidified his position as a formidable representative.

In a powerful video released by the NRCC, Nunn expressed his dedication to serving the people of Iowa’s 3rd District. He emphasized the importance of unity within the Republican party and the ongoing battle to maintain the majority. The video will be shared across various social media platforms to reach a wide audience.

A Challenging Path Ahead

Retaining Nunn’s seat will undoubtedly be a challenging endeavor. According to the Cook Political Report, his district leans Republican, with an R+3 rating. While he currently does not have a declared Democratic opponent, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee has identified him as a target.

Jack Pandol, the NRCC communications director, praised Nunn’s authenticity and commitment to public service. He highlighted Nunn’s dedication to both his country and his two adopted children, emphasizing that these qualities make him a dynamic congressman for Iowa.

As of April 1, Nunn’s campaign has $657,779 on hand, according to Federal Election Commission records.
