NRCC targets vulnerable House Dems with ‘Naughty List

NRCC‌ Unveils “Democrat Naughty ⁤List” Targeting Vulnerable Incumbents

The National Republican Congressional ‌Committee (NRCC) is shaking things ⁣up with its latest campaign, introducing the “Democrat Naughty ⁣List” that calls out 11 ⁣vulnerable incumbents ⁤for their questionable ‍actions over the past year. This‌ bold move comes as the NRCC launches ⁣a captivating website called “Dems On The Naughty List,” accompanied by a compelling video narrated by none other than Santa himself, ⁢who ⁤explains ⁣each ‍lawmaker’s naughty ⁤deeds.

“‘Twas the⁢ night before Christmas ⁣in Democrats’ ‍House,⁢ not a⁣ House Dem was⁤ stirring, not even a mouse,”

The website‍ meticulously outlines a series of alleged wrongdoings committed by these House Democrats. For instance,⁤ it highlights Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez (D-WA) for reportedly neglecting to pay property taxes on an auto repair shop she owned in Portland, Oregon. Although Perez⁢ eventually settled the taxes, she claimed to have⁤ relinquished ownership‍ of the shop shortly after her election.

The list also takes aim⁣ at Reps. Mary Peltola (D-AK) and Mike Levin (D-CA) for their voting records. Specifically, it⁢ criticizes Peltola for voting‍ against the House GOP-led defense appropriations bill, which ⁤included a pay raise for military members. Additionally,‌ it calls out ‍Rep. Marcy Kaptur (D-OH) for allegedly ⁣violating the STOCK Act, a law she herself helped‌ author.

“[Santa] spoke just one word as he went straight‍ to work ⁤and filled all the⁣ stockings with coal — then mumbled, ‘Jerk,'” the ad concludes. ”He sprang to his sleigh, to his team, gave ⁤a whistle, and ‌away⁢ they all flew like the down ⁢of a⁣ thistle, ‌but I heard him⁤ exclaim, ere he drove out ‍of sight, ‘House Democrats are naughty, and they ruined my night.'”

All 11 Democrats on the naughty list are also on the NRCC’s target ⁢list for offensive ⁣pickup opportunities in⁤ 2024. Notably, four of them, including Perez, Reps. ‍Jared ⁣Golden (D-ME), Yadira Caraveo (D-CO), and Gabe Vasquez (D-NM), ⁢are in toss-up districts heading into the next election cycle.

While House Democrats ⁤may brush off ‌this‌ campaign, the party’s⁢ main‌ campaign fundraising arm has responded with its own ad, ⁤accusing House Republicans of being “wildly unproductive and unfit to govern.” ‍Their⁤ video features House Republicans expressing⁤ frustration with their⁢ own party’s lack of progress, which ⁤House Democrats have labeled as “ineptitude” in leading the lower chamber.

When⁢ asked about the contrasting videos,‌ DCCC spokesman Viet Shelton remarked, “So the‍ difference‍ between these dueling videos‍ is‌ that the NRCC needed to hire an actor to read their holiday fiction ‍aloud. We just used clips ⁢of actual House Republicans‌ bashing‌ themselves‌ and⁤ their dumpster fire⁤ of a 2023. It’s a difference we’re confident voters will be able to notice too.”

As the 2024 ⁤elections approach, all ‌435 seats ‌are up for grabs, with Republicans aiming to maintain their slim majority in‍ the lower chamber.⁢ Out of the 45 competitive ‌seats, most are currently held by Democrats, giving the GOP a ‍slight advantage. However, ⁣it’s worth noting that⁢ 17 of these competitive seats ⁣are held by Republicans⁣ in districts that voted for President Joe Biden in 2020, compared⁤ to⁣ just ⁤five Democrats defending their seats in districts carried by former President Donald Trump. This⁢ balance of vulnerable GOP-held ‌seats ensures a competitive landscape for⁤ the ‌upcoming election cycle.

What ‍are some of the allegations brought against the Democrats on the “Naughty List” by the NRCC?

L flew, but before he ⁢rode out of sight, he ⁣offered one last piece of⁢ advice: ‘Think ⁢twice before you vote for these Democrats‌, they’re on the Naughty List for ⁤a reason!'”

This campaign by the‌ NRCC is a bold move that ⁣aims to⁣ hold these vulnerable incumbents accountable for their ⁣actions. By creating a captivating website and video, accompanied by the iconic figure of Santa Claus, the NRCC effectively captures‌ the‌ attention of the public and brings these alleged wrongdoings to ⁣light.

One of the key highlights of ⁣the website is the case of Rep. ‍Marie Gluesenkamp Perez. The fact that⁣ she allegedly neglected to pay property taxes on her auto repair shop raises concerns⁣ about her integrity ‌and responsibility as a lawmaker. While she ‍eventually settled the taxes, the question remains as ⁣to why she failed to fulfill this obligation in the first place and whether it was resolved solely due ‌to public scrutiny. Such‌ actions ⁢call into⁤ question her ability to effectively manage her personal affairs,‌ let alone make sound decisions on behalf of her constituents.

The campaign ‍also brings attention to the ⁤voting records of Reps. ⁤Mary Peltola and Mike Levin. By voting against a defense appropriations bill that⁣ included a pay raise for military⁢ members,⁢ Peltola draws criticism for⁢ potentially neglecting the well-being and financial security of those who serve and protect our country. Likewise, Levin’s voting record raises doubts about his commitment to national defense and the best interests of the American people. These actions may alienate a significant portion of their constituents who value and prioritize the military’s welfare.

Furthermore, the NRCC accuses⁤ Rep. Marcy Kaptur of violating the STOCK Act, a law that she⁢ herself helped author. This allegation undermines the integrity of Kaptur, as it suggests a disregard for the very legislation she was responsible for creating. If true,⁣ it is⁣ a clear betrayal of the public’s trust, as ⁢lawmakers should be held ‌to the highest ethical standards.

While‌ it ⁣is important ⁣to note that these allegations have ⁣yet to be proven ‌definitively, the NRCC’s decision to shine a spotlight on them raises legitimate concerns. In a democracy, it is essential to hold elected officials accountable for their actions, and this campaign serves as a reminder that no⁣ one is above scrutiny. ⁤Voters deserve ⁤information about their representatives, including any potential misconduct or questionable decisions.

The “Democrat Naughty List” campaign⁢ serves as a wake-up call to these vulnerable incumbents and a reminder that their actions ‌will not go unnoticed or‌ unchallenged. It is crucial for voters to have all the facts before making an informed ⁤decision at the ballot box. Transparency ⁣and accountability are the pillars ⁤of a functioning democracy, and campaigns like this play ‍a vital role in ensuring these principles endure.

As the 2022 midterm elections⁣ approach, the‌ NRCC’s campaign will ⁣undoubtedly ‌shape the⁢ discourse surrounding these ⁣vulnerable incumbents. It remains to be seen how these lawmakers will respond to the allegations and whether they can effectively address‍ the concerns raised by ⁣the NRCC and the public. Nevertheless, one thing is certain – the “Democrat Naughty List” has created a significant ripple in the political landscape‌ and will play a pivotal ⁢role in shaping the narrative going forward.
