Nikola Recalls All Battery-Powered Electric Trucks Due to Fire Risk
Nikola, the electric truck manufacturer, has announced a recall of all its battery-powered electric trucks following an investigation into recent fires. The company has identified a coolant leak inside the battery pack as the cause of the fires.
Currently, there are a total of 209 battery-powered electric trucks in the marketplace, including those with dealers and customers. Nikola is taking immediate action by recalling these vehicles and contacting all parties involved.
The investigation’s preliminary findings were confirmed when a “minor thermal incident” occurred on one of the parked engineering-validation trucks. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
