Nikki Haley criticizes Ramaswamy over Israel aid cut remark.
Former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley Slams GOP Candidate’s Stance on Aid to Israel
Former U.N. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley, who is running for the Republican presidential nomination, criticized fellow GOP candidate Vivek Ramaswamy for his proposal to cut aid to Israel by 2028 if elected president.
Israel currently receives nearly $4 billion a year in military aid from the U.S., with the majority of it being used for credits sent directly from the Pentagon to U.S. weapons manufacturers. Additionally, Israeli intelligence collaborates closely with the U.S. in gathering intelligence in various regions.
Ramaswamy, speaking on a podcast, expressed his intention to expand the Abraham Accords, which established relations between Israel and the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Morocco, and Sudan. He also aimed to broker peace between Israel and countries like Qatar, Oman, and Indonesia, before cutting U.S. aid to Israel. However, Qatar has funded Hamas, an enemy of Israel, and has also supported the Taliban and Islamists in Syria.
Ramaswamy argued that if the Abraham Accords were strengthened, military aid to Israel would no longer be necessary for stability in the Middle East. Haley strongly disagreed with Ramaswamy’s position, emphasizing the importance of the special bond between the U.S. and Israel for both moral and strategic reasons.
In addition, Haley pointed out that Ramaswamy had also suggested abandoning Taiwan to Communist China if the U.S. were no longer reliant on Taiwan for semiconductors. Haley criticized Ramaswamy’s foreign policy proposals, stating that they would make America less safe.

During her tenure as U.N. Ambassador, Haley consistently supported Israel and stood against the bias and criticism it faced from other nations. She highlighted the need to address the anti-Israel bias within the U.N. and ensure that discussions on the Middle East encompassed all relevant areas. Haley’s strong stance on supporting Israel remains unwavering.
