NIH director supports businesses requiring proof of COVID-19 vaccine

The Director of the National Institute of Health has shown support for businesses to require customers to provide proof of vaccination. During an interview on Sunday, Dr. Francis Collins claimed this would encourage the unvaccinated to get the vaccine if they wanted to be a part of public events.
Collins went on to applaud Joe Biden’s move, which has required federal employees to either get vaccinated or undergo regular COVID-19 tests.
“I think maybe that’s what it will take for some of those who’ve still been a little reluctant to say, okay, it’s time,” he stated. “The data will support the decision. They are making the right choice for their own safety, but sometimes it takes a nudge.”
Biden is going to push a vaccine mandate on the millions of Americans who work for the federal government.

This comes after some restaurants around the country have already started to require proof of vaccination at the door. In regards to airlines, Collins said that would be up to the companies, but noted it could be another incentive for people to become vaccinated.
