‘Nice To See You!’: Soccer Legend Sparks Reactions After Posing For Photo With Jordan Peterson

Portuguese soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo snapped a photo with renowned psychologist Jordan B. Peterson — and when he shared it on Instagram, the comments flooded in.

The immensely popular athlete became the first person to amass over 500 million followers across social media platforms Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter in February of 2021 — and he’s bested Brazilian legend Pele’s goal tally with 770 — but he apparently ruffled some feathers with a simple photo.

Reuters reporter Catarina Demony was not thrilled with the crossover, tweeting, “Cristiano Ronaldo with Jordan Peterson, the guy who said feminists have ‘an unconscious wish for brutal male domination.’”

“I’ll be real, a Cristiano Ronaldo, Jordan Peterson linkup is one I couldn’t have imagined at any point, at all,” sportswriter @umirf1 added.

But the responses to the photo on Instagram were primarily positive, with many wishing Ronaldo well and a number talking about how much they liked both men.

“Big fan!!” Dr. Miguel Stanley commented.

“Two proper men,” Peter Queally added.

Peterson commented on the photo as well, saying, “I’ve rarely met anyone who more clearly deserved what they earned. Good to meet you.”

“Two legends the world needed,” came from @piques.

“Fantastic! Huge fan of both of you,” Peter Jordan said.

“Legendary,” Anthony Sorella added.

“Woooooowww!!! Two legends,” from Camilo Gaviria.

Peterson recently announced his multi-year partnership with DailyWire+, The Daily Wire’s newly-launched streaming service. He also launched a new limited edition podcast series titled “Dragons, Monsters, & Men.”

He also inadvertently made headlines when director Olivia Wilde claimed that she had based the role of the villain in her new film “Don’t Worry Darling” — played by actor Chris Pine — on Peterson. “Frank was partly based on this insane man, Jordan Peterson, who is this pseudo-intellectual hero to the incel community,” Wilde said.

Mikhaila Peterson, the psychologist’s daughter, mocked the claim on a recent podcast: “My dad is not pro-incel.”

Daily Wire editor emeritus Ben Shapiro also weighed in, adding, “Olivia Wilde doesn’t like Jordan Peterson. Which may be the best Jordan Peterson endorsement I have ever heard.”
