NFL Star Marshawn Lynch Arrested In Las Vegas, Booked For DUI

Famed running back Marshawn Lynch was arrested in Las Vegas this week and booked for driving under the influence.

Lynch, who played in the NFL from 2007-2019, spent time with the Buffalo Bills, Seattle Seahawks, and Oakland Raiders.

“The LVMPD (Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department) conducted a vehicle stop at Fairfield Avenue and West Utah Avenue (near Wyoming and Las Vegas Blvd) on a driver, later identified as Marshawn Lynch, for suspected driver impairment,” the LVMPD posted Tuesday.

“Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that Lynch was impaired and conducted an arrest,” the department added. “Lynch was transported to the Las Vegas City Jail and booked for driving under the influence.”

During his career, the charismatic football star helped the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl in 2014.

The team almost won a second with Lynch, but came up literally yards short when Coach Pete Carroll opted to throw on 2nd and goal instead of handing off to Lynch to run in for the TD.

“To be honest with you, I would be lying if I didn’t tell you that I was expecting the ball. Yes, I was expecting the ball. But in life, these things happen. Like I told a reporter after the game, it’s a team sport,” Lynch later reacted, according to Bleacher Report.

“I had no problem with the decision of the play-calling,” he continued. “I mean, you know … I think it was more of a … how do I say this? When you look at me, and you let me run that ball in … I am the face of the nation. You know, MVP of the Super Bowl … that’s pretty much the face of the nation at that point of time.”

“I don’t know what went into that call. I mean, maybe it was a good thing that I didn’t get the ball. I mean, you know, it cost us the Super Bowl,” the running back said. “I mean, I have full … I have full confidence in my teammates to execute that plan because we’ve done it so many more times. But would I love to had the ball in? Yes, I would have. But the game is over …”

Carroll admitted the play was the “worst result of a call ever.”

Lynch is also known for his remarks to the press. During a Super Bowl media day in 2015, the athlete showed up to speak to reporters only so he wouldn’t get fined, and he let the press know.

“I’m just here so I won’t get fined,” Lynch responded to nearly every single question tossed his way.
