New York City is mourning the tragic death of a longtime FDNY paramedic who was stabbed and killed while working at EMS Station 49 in Queens Thursday afternoon. Lieutenant Alison Russo-Elling, a 25-year veteran of the FDNY, worked tirelessly to protect our community, having served as an emergency medical worker for 24 years, including responding to the 9/11 attack. Our hearts go out to her loved ones and colleagues.

According to FDNY, Russo-Elling joined the department as an EMT in March 1998 and became a paramedic in 2002. She was promoted to lieutenant in 2016.

During her career, she worked at multiple EMS stations, including Station 20, Station 17, Station 16, Station 45, Queens Tactical Response Group and Station 49.

Yet, this tragedy is just another day in the Democrat-run state of New York. Nothing new. This is a direct result of the disastrous crime policies of Governor Kathy Hochul and District Attorneys like Alvin Bragg.

The maniac who allegedly stabbed the  Lieutenant to deathwas charged with murder Friday. He’s expected to be arraigned at Queens Criminal Court later in the evening.

Peter Zisopoulos, 34, also faces a weapon possession charge in connection to the senseless attack.

New Yorkers took to social media to express their pain and send their condolences. However, the voters of NYC have voted for this system for decades. At a certain point in time, everyone who continues to vote for democrats in the city are directly responsible for the crime, the violence and senseless murder.

Let us honor this hero come November at the ballot box.

An EMT.  A 9/11 First Responder. An NYC hero. May her memory be a blessing.
