New Poll Shows That ‘Likely Voters’ Have Been Duped Regarding the Politics of Charlie Kirk’s Alleged Assassin

A recent national poll conducted by McLaughlin & Associates for the Media Research Center revealed that most likely voters are unaware that Tyler Robinson, the man accused of assassinating Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, is left-wing.Only about 24% of respondents correctly identified Robinson as having a leftist political ideology, while 27.5% said they did not know, and 22.3% incorrectly believed he was right-wing. The confusion is attributed to how mainstream media outlets have portrayed the incident. Some left-leaning media figures have downplayed Robinson’s political motives, calling them “elusive” or vague, despite evidence such as bullet casings inscribed with anti-fascist messages and Robinson’s own text messages expressing opposition to Kirk’s conservative and conventional views. The poll also showed that even viewers of right-leaning media had limited understanding, with only about a third correctly naming Robinson’s political stance. the findings suggest that misinformation and media framing have obscured public awareness of Robinson’s left-wing motivations behind the killing.

A new poll of likely voters showed that the liberal media was able to sufficiently muddy the waters so that most respondents did not know Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin is a leftist.

“A November 25 McLaughlin & Associates national poll of 1,000 likely voters conducted for the Media Research Center, less than a quarter of respondents correctly described Tyler Robinson, the man accused of murdering TPUSA founder Charlie Kirk, as left-wing,” MRC’s NewsBusters reported.

The poll asked respondents, “On September 10, 2025, Turning Point USA Founder Charlie Kirk was murdered while speaking on a college campus. What was the political ideology of his killer?”

The answer choices were “left-wing,” “moderate,” “right-wing,” “no ideology,” “other,” and “don’t know.”

“The plurality of respondents (27.5%) professed no knowledge of Robinson’s political ideology. Less than a quarter — 24.1 percent — identified him as left-wing, while 22.3 percent incorrectly asserted that he was right-wing. Another 13.2 percent claimed he was either moderate or a centrist,” NewsBusters said.

Why would poll participants be so uninformed? The left-wing media and their allies.

For example, CBS News host John Dickerson said, “Five days after Charlie Kirk’s murder, the shooter’s motive remains elusive: No writings left behind, vague second-hand testimony.”

ABC briefly suspended late night host Jimmy Kimmel after he stated in September, “We hit some new lows over the weekend with the MAGA gang desperately trying to characterize this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and doing everything they can to score political points from it.”

Days prior to Dickerson’s comments and Kimmel’s show, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox told reporters that Robinson inscribed one of his bullet casings found at the assassination site “Hey Fascist! Catch!” along with an Antifa symbol.

Another bullet contained the lyrics of “Bella Ciao,” an Italian anti-fascist anthem.

Robinson, in a text to transgender lover Lance Twiggs following the shooting, plainly stated his motive: “I had enough of [Kirk’s] hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”

Robinson allegedly made the fatal shot immediately after Kirk was asked a question about transgenderism.

The shooter’s mother told investigators that her son over the last year became “more political and had started to lean more to the left, becoming more pro-gay and trans rights-oriented.”

Despite these and other facts, the MRC poll found, “Only 18.8 percent of those who primarily watched left-of-center cable news outlets were able to correctly describe his ideology, as compared to 27.7 percent who asserted that he was right-wing. Surprisingly, even among right-of-center cable news viewers, barely over a third of participants (33.5%) answered that Robinson was left-wing, and a still-considerable 18.0 percent believed him to be right-wing.”

Overall, 35.4 percent of liberals thought Robinson was right-wing, while just 12.7 percent identified him as leftist.

So, for the record, there is plenty of evidence to indicate that Robinson is a leftist who shot Kirk because of his traditional Christian, conservative views, despite how heavily Americans have been misled.
