Musk suggests Epstein files release will be high priority for America Party – Washington Examiner
Billionaire Elon Musk has stated that releasing files related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein will be a top priority for his newly proposed “America Party,” which aims to challenge the current two-party system in the United states. Musk expressed frustration over the handling of the Epstein examination by the FBI and Department of Justice, which concluded there was no client list linked to Epstein. Musk has also criticized former President Donald Trump, suggesting Trump is implicated in the Epstein files and questioning why the files have not been made public. Musk’s claims include allegations that Trump ally Steve Bannon is named in the files as well. Despite Musk’s ambitions, some political figures, including Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, have warned that launching a third party could inadvertently benefit Democrats. The controversy around the Epstein case continues amid official statements attempting to dispel concerns, including explanations about missing surveillance footage from Epstein’s jail cell.
Musk suggests Epstein files release will be high priority for America Party
Billionaire Elon Musk indicated Tuesday that releasing files related to convicted sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein will be a major goal for his third party.
President Donald Trump and his administration confirmed Tuesday it had finished its investigation into Epstein, in which the FBI and Department of Justice concluded Epstein didn’t have a client list. Musk, an ex-Trump ally, has vented his frustration with the investigation on X, questioning how anyone could trust the president “if he won’t release the Epstein files.”
Musk’s statement comes as he seeks to launch the “America Party” to challenge the nation’s two-party system. An X user asked Musk if releasing the Epstein files would “rank high” in his party’s goals, to which Musk responded with a “100” emoji.
The billionaire broke his bromance with Trump by releasing several statements on X, one of which read that the president is “in the Epstein files “ and that this is “the real reason” the files have not been made public. Musk has since deleted this post.
Musk also claimed the files include Trump ally Steve Bannon, who called for Musk to be arrested or deported over his criticism of the One Big Beautiful Bill Act.
Multiple people caution Musk from starting a third party, with Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) predicting it would only help Democrats. The Washington Examiner’s Joe Concha also said the America Party would only “play the spoiler instead of actually offering a solution.”
ELON MUSK’S ‘AMERICA PARTY’ PROPOSAL – COULD IT WORK?
Trump sidestepped a question about Epstein Tuesday, asking why people were still talking about “this creep.” Attorney General Pam Bondi also tried to dispel concerns about a missing minute from the footage of Epstein’s cell, saying it is a common occurrence.
FBI Director Kash Patel appeared on The Joe Rogan Experience in June and attempted to avoid Musk’s feud with Trump, saying “I’m not participating in any part of that conversation.”
