Musk signals support for Trump in LA immigration riot dispute
Recently, Elon Musk expressed support for Donald Trump in the context of riots that erupted in Los Angeles. This support came shortly after a public disagreement between Musk and trump on social media platform X. Musk reposted a comment from Vice President JD Vance that praised Trump’s decision to deploy the National Guard to address the riots, emphasizing the need for decisive leadership.
The disturbances were related to opposition against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), prompting Trump to send 2,000 National Guard troops to the city, following protests against ICE raids. In his posts, Musk criticized the rioting, specifically calling out a photo of a rioter waving a Mexican flag on a police car, stating, “This is not ok.”
While Musk’s relationship with Trump had recently soured due to Musk’s criticisms of trump’s political maneuvers, musk’s recent posts suggest a quick reconciliation of sorts, highlighting a complicated dynamic between the two figures amid ongoing political tensions and challenges in Los Angeles.
Musk signals support for Trump in LA immigration riot dispute after break up
Just days after Elon Musk and President Donald Trump‘s public falling out on X, Musk supported Trump in his decision to deploy the National Guard to contain the riots that broke out in Los Angeles over the weekend.
Musk reposted a post from Vice President JD Vance, which included a screenshot of Trump’s Truth Social post addressing how his administration will combat the anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement riots in Los Angeles.
“This moment calls for decisive leadership,” Vance said. “The president will not tolerate rioting and violence.”
Musk reposted Vance’s comments with two American flag emojis.
The former Department of Government Efficiency leader also posted a screenshot of Trump’s social media post calling for Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass to “apologize” to the city’s residents “for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, and this now includes the ongoing L.A. riots.”
Musk also posted a photo of a rioter standing on a police car waving the Mexican flag and said, “This is not ok.”
Last week, Musk and Trump’s relationship imploded after Musk shared dozens of posts criticizing the president for trying to pass the “big, beautiful bill,” which would undercut DOGE’s efforts to reduce federal spending. In a now-deleted post, Musk also accused Trump of being in the Epstein files.
In response to the slew of posts, Trump said he has severed ties with Musk but wished him well.
