MTG fuels speculation of 2026 Senate run against Ossoff – Washington Examiner
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) has ignited speculation about a potential Senate run against Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) in 2026. In a recent fundraising email, Greene described the possibility of such a campaign as “the biggest fight of my life,” indicating she is seeking the input and support from her donors and followers before making a final decision. She emphasized the challenges she might face in the campaign, citing opposition from various groups, including the “radical left” and the media.
Ossoff has already accrued over $11 million for his re-election campaign, while Greene has not yet formally declared her candidacy but remains open to the idea. Some Republicans are optimistic about winning this seat to help maintain Senate control, with speculation that Georgia Governor Brian Kemp may also consider running against Ossoff. Recent polls show Greene trailing behind Ossoff, but she is known for her resilience in political contests, having achieved significant victories in her previous elections. Greene’s email hinted at aggressive campaign strategies, framing Ossoff as a “radical” who poses a threat to conservative values.
MTG fuels speculation of 2026 Senate run against Ossoff
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) fueled speculation that she is considering an uphill bid against Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) next year in a weekend fundraising email that described a possible campaign as the “biggest fight of my life.”
Greene, who overcame media and Democratic smears and sneers to win her House seat in 2020 and eventually become influential in the GOP caucus, said in the email that she would take her direction from supporters and donors.
“Before anything further happens — before I move to the next step — I need to hear from you. I need to know if I should run for Senate in Georgia, and if I should I need to know if I will have your support or not,” she said.
“This would be the biggest fight of my life, the most important, the most brutal, and the most high-stakes,” said her email, which added, “The radical left, the fake news media, the RINOs, the globalist billionaires — they would all come after me with everything they’ve got. But I’m not afraid of them. I’m only afraid of running this race without the full support of the America First patriots who have had my back since day one.”
The email includes a poll question that links to a fundraising page.
Ossoff has already raised over $11 million for his reelection campaign.
Greene has kept the door open to running for Ossoff’s seat. Senate Republicans believe the race can be won, and a victory would be key to maintaining control of the chamber.
Many state and national Republicans are hopeful that Gov. Brian Kemp will challenge Ossoff. The Republican leads in recently released polls.
A key Greene supporter in Washington told Secrets that he hasn’t heard yet that the congresswoman will or won’t run. She won reelection twice with sizable leads.
NEW ‘URBANIST PARTY’: SANDERS, AOC, HOGG
A recent story from the Associated Press suggested that Ossoff would like Greene to run, believing that she is too partisan and conservative to win.
While she is behind in recent polls testing the race, Greene has never run away from a fight.
Her fundraising email tested out a couple of lines of attack. “One of the biggest hurdles we face in our movement to save America is the U.S. Senate. The worst of them is Jon Ossoff, or as I like to call him, ‘Radical Transgender Activist Jon Ossoff.’ Ossoff is already working behind the scenes to impeach and remove President Trump from office,” it said.
