Mom FaceTimed Ex To Show She Slit Their Children’s Throats: Court Docs

A Louisiana mother repeatedly FaceTimed her ex to show him that she had slit their children’s throats and stabbed them, even showing their 4-year-old girl “gasping for air,” according to court documents obtained by NOLA.com.

Jenee Pedesclaux, 31, was in the midst of a bitter custody battle with her ex, Jermaine Roberts, when she called him to say she had damaged his vehicle and was going to kill herself and their children to avoid jail. She then FaceTimed him three times to show that she had followed through with stabbing their 2-year-old son Jay’Ceon and 4-year-old daughter, Paris. In her final call, she showed Roberts that she had slit the children’s throats, with Paris “gasping for air” on a bed.

Paris received multiple procedures at University Medical Center in an attempt to save her life, NOLA reported. Her injuries, however, proved too great and she died due to sharp force trauma, with a laceration on her neck that stretched down her spine and damaged her trachea. She also had cuts to her upper chest and shoulders.

Jay’Ceon remained intubated and in critical condition as of Monday, court documents showed.

After attacking the children, Pedesclaux posted a Facebook Live video showing herself covered in blood and blaming Roberts for what she had done.

“My children is dead! I’m done!” she said, even though Jay’Ceon was still alive. “I’m done, and it’s all Jermaine’s fault! … I’m killing myself!”

Roberts had called police as soon as Pedesclaux made her first phone call, threatening to kill herself and the kids. He then ran over to Pedesclaux’s house, but she had locked the door.

“We gone. It’s over with,” she told him, according to court documents.

Roberts broke a window to gain entry into the home, where he found his children bleeding and foam coming out of his daughter’s mouth. Once inside the home Pedesclaux allegedly bit her ex and threatened to stab him with a knife. He managed to get his kids and take them to the local hospital.

Pedesclaux had also used the knife on herself, but only gave herself superficial cuts to her collarbone area, court documents noted. She received treatment at the hospital and was arrested Monday night and charged with second-degree murder, attempted murder, and second-degree cruelty to a juvenile.

Court documents showed Pedesclaux and Roberts had been in a protracted custody battle, with Robert saying his ex was “not stable or providing a healthy environment for the kids,” NOLA reported.

In March, Pedesclaux tested positive for benzodiazepine (tranquilizers), cocaine, and cannabinoids as part of a drug screening. Her family, however, blamed mental health for her actions, telling NOLA it was an “unspeakable tragedy.”

“Mental health is a crisis that is affecting every family and ours is no different. The lack of mental health services and the toxic mix of social media has added to the problems we face as a community,” her family told the outlet.
