Minnesota state Rep. Kaohly Vang Her said on Monday that she is “illegal” in the United States.
Her was speaking on the Minnesota House floor when she made her revelation.
“And so I am illegal in this country. My parents are illegal here in this country,” Her stated in footage shared on X.

To qualify for office in the Minnesota House of Representatives, a candidate must be a citizen for three months before an election.
In May, Her posted a legislative update in which she said state Republicans wanted to “hold the state budget hostage” unless healthcare access for “our undocumented neighbors” was removed. She maintained support for Minnesota’s undocumented residents, adding that they are “not our enemy” and instead are “part of our communities.”
In September, Her posted to X that she and her parents voted early at a rally that had Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) among the attendees.

In a separate video, Minnesota state Rep. Larry Kraft was seen claiming that immigrants are “more entrepreneurial” and “commit less crime.” He also said 95% of the state’s growth in population is credited to immigrants.
