Miley Cyrus talks about dad Billy Ray and explains why she won’t tour in new TikTok show.
Miley Cyrus is opening up about her past in a new and exciting TikTok series inspired by her latest single, ”Used To Be Young.”
The talented 30-year-old singer and actress plans to take her fans on a journey through her untold stories from the beginning.
In an Instagram post on Sunday, Miley expressed her excitement, saying, “Sometimes it feels like my life started when Hannah Montana was born. But before Hannah, there was Miley. My dream was to bring laughter, music, and iconic moments that would last beyond my lifetime. Decades later, I continue to fulfill my purpose because of the love from my fans.”

In one of the TikTok clips, Miley reflects on her father, country star Billy Ray Cyrus, and how their paths to fame differed greatly.
“My dad grew up the opposite of me. I grew up on a soundstage, in a close-knit family under one roof. I had financial and emotional stability, even in my relationships,” Miley reveals. “That’s something my dad didn’t have.”
“For my dad, feeling loved by a large audience had a deep emotional impact on him, more than it ever could on me. When he feels special or important, it’s like healing a childhood wound. I’ve always been made to feel like a star,” she continued. “That’s the difference.”
In another clip, the talented artist discusses her decision to step away from touring and why she believes it’s not healthy for her.
“What people don’t understand about touring is that the show is only 90 minutes, but it becomes your entire life,” Miley said in a video posted on Sunday. “If you perform at a high level of intensity and excellence, there should be an equal amount of recovery and rest.”
“There’s a level of ego that comes into play, and I feel like it gets overused when I’m on tour. Once it switches on, it’s hard to turn it off,” she continued. “And when you’re training your ego every night to be active, that’s the hardest switch for me to turn off.”
“Being in a constant state of subject and observer in my relationships every day isn’t healthy for me. It erases my humanity and connection, and without those, I can’t be a songwriter, which is my priority,” Miley concluded.
