A dozen Trump supporters approached Mike Pence’s vehicle as he entered his Friday event yelling, “that’s a traitor,” “you’re a sellout,” and “why didn’t you uphold the constitution?”

Pence addressed the incident during an interview on CBS News’ “Face the Nation” with Major Garrett. When asked about the heckling and its impact on him, Pence responded with conviction.
Standing Firm in Defense of the Constitution
“You know, I know in my heart of hearts, that on January 6, I did my duty, kept my oath to the Constitution of the United States,” Pence asserted.
He expressed his encouragement at the growing number of Americans who recognize the integrity of his actions on that fateful day. Pence emphasized that he and his team are dedicated to upholding the peaceful transfer of power, a fundamental principle of democracy.
“President Trump was wrong. He was wrong then. He’s wrong now. I had no right to overturn the election. And more and more Americans are coming up to me every day and recognizing that, and- and for my part, I’m running for president in part because, frankly, President Trump asked me to put him over the Constitution that day, but I chose the Constitution and I always will,” Pence declared.
