Media not covering the GOP’s successes is ‘bias omission 101’: Joe Concha
Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said Tuesday he doesn’t understand why the media isn’t reporting on the successes of the Republican Party.
Concha discussed Democratic state Rep. Aftyn Behn’s comment that she “hated Nashville,” located in Tennessee’s 7th District, which she sought to represent in Tuesday’s special election. While Behn lost this election to Republican candidate Matt Van Epps, her comments regarding Nashville were “largely” not reported in the press.
“Bias omission 101,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Kudlow, guest-hosted by David Asman. “But in the end, David, you got gas prices below $3, inflation compared to the Biden years relatively tame, stock market at all-time highs, unemployment low, GDP’s up, Trump’s tax cut is now permanent, no tax on tips coming in 2026, the border’s secure and there’s a peace deal in Gaza and Iran doesn’t have nuclear capabilities anymore. I don’t know why the Republican story, or they’re not telling that story!”
Van Epps won Tuesday’s election by roughly nine points in a district that President Donald Trump won by 22%. Democratic National Committee Chairman Ken Martin said that Behn’s overperformance in the race is a “flashing warning sign” for the Republican Party before the 2026 midterm elections.
Beyond the midterm elections, Concha also addressed rumblings that Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-CA) aims to run for president in 2028. According to a CBS News poll, a majority of California residents don’t want the current governor to run for president, which Concha said is due to Newsom’s handling of January’s wildfires, the state’s homelessness, and taxes.
VANCE IN RUNAWAY LEAD FOR 2028 GOP NOMINATION
He concluded that “Make America California” could be a slogan that catches on in “blue cities,” but wouldn’t draw voters in swing-states like Georgia, Pennsylvania, or North Carolina.
Democrats will enter the 2026 midterm elections after successfully winning the major elections this year, in which the party made massive gains among the young male voting bloc. While some argue this is because these voters believe Trump hasn’t delivered on his promise to lower prices.
