Former White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows said President Trump has been seeking “to move forward in a real way” as he hinted at a potential 2024 White House run. During an interview on Friday, Meadows noted the 45th president recently met with former cabinet members and was “looking at what comes next.”

Meadows said the meetings would not happen if plans to move forward in a real way weren’t made with Trump at the top of the ticket. Trump has reportedly already made his decision on a 2024 presidential run, but hasn’t clarified what that decision was.

This comes as President Trump has remained an influential figure for the GOP. Recent polls have shown Republicans voters favored the 45th president over other possible GOP opponents, including Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.).

The former chief of staff went on to tout Trump’s lasting popularity among Republicans by pointing out his approval rating of more than 90 percent in both Arizona and Texas.
