Washington Examiner columnist Joe Concha said Secretary of State Marco Rubio has been a “top candidate” for MVP in the Trump administration.
Rubio “has been flawless in speeches, interviews,” Concha said Thursday night on Fox News’s Hannity. “It’s such a far cry from 2016 when Rubio was unsteady as a presidential candidate. Now he’s as serious as a prison fight.”
President Donald Trump compared Rubio to Vice President JD Vance at the Board of Peace meeting on Thursday, saying the secretary handles occasions with a “velvet glove,” but it’s a “kill.”
Concha said Rubio’s confidence has changed since he ran for president in 2016.
“He has the confidence of a heavyweight champion,” Concha said. “Trump knows that this one-two punch of Vance and Rubio would be extremely tough to beat.”
Concha highlighted that the “chemistry” of Trump’s Cabinet in his second administration is better than that of his Cabinet from his first administration.
“When you look at the chemistry now in 2.0 Trump, as far as the second term, and the way it was back in 2016 during his first term, it is night and day,” Concha said. Trump “genuinely likes the people working with him and for him.”
