Authorities, including a SWAT team and bomb squad, responded with drones and a bomb-sniffing dog. The man, described as older with long gray hair and having an oxygen tank, was in custody after a two-hour standoff. No injuries were reported, and the situation was resolved with caution and urgency by frist responders.

A man drove his car in front of Los Angeles City Hall and barricaded himself inside on Friday afternoon. The car appeared to have signs pleading with President Donald Trump for help.
“Don’t want to hurt nobody” and “I need ur help D Trump US vet,” the signs read.
City Hall was evacuated, and the motorist was taken into custody after a two-hour standoff. The incident happened around 4:10 p.m. local time with a black sedan hopping the curb to come to rest just outside the City Hall steps.

Meanwhile, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies evacuated a nearby park due to a bomb threat and a SWAT team made contact with the man.
The man’s car was apparently nearly spewing smoke, and he had a visible oxygen tank next to him. A spokesperson for Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass told the New York Times that as soon as they saw the car, “it was clear something was wrong.”
Police drones flew overhead as they spoke with the man. Surrounding streets were closed as police handled the crisis.
After about two hours, police officers took the man, who was older with long gray hair, into custody. It’s unclear what his intentions were or who he is.
Bass said in a statement around 6:14 p.m. that the man had been taken into custody.
“The suspect outside of City Hall is now in custody and the LAPD bomb squad is on the scene,” he wrote in a post on X. “Thank you to all of the brave first responders who safely resolved this situation with compassion and urgency.”
She previously said that City Hall had been evacuated “out of an abundance of caution.”

The Los Angeles Police Department Bomb Squad searched the man’s car after the incident, and a bomb-sniffing dog skirted the grounds.
