He initially went to the Capitol to see it, but upon encountering its evil presence, he felt convicted to remove it. Cassidy dismantled the statue, placed it in a garbage bag, and promptly informed security of his actions.

If convicted, Cassidy could face a year in prison and a $2,560 fine. However, his legal defense has received overwhelming support, with a fundraiser raising over $78,000 and gaining the backing of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis.
