The Longest Alligator Ever Recorded in Mississippi
In an incredible feat, a group of hunters in Mississippi have managed to capture the longest alligator ever recorded in the state, according to the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks.
The hunters, Donald Woods, Will Thomas, Joey Clark, and Tanner White, successfully harvested a massive male alligator in the Sunflower River in west Mississippi. This incredible creature weighed a staggering 802.5 pounds (364 kilograms) and measured an astonishing 14 feet, 3 inches (4.3 meters) in length, breaking the previous record by over 2 inches.

After successfully capturing the alligator, the hunters proudly posed for a picture with their incredible achievement at Red Antler Processing in Yazoo City, located in the Mississippi Delta.
It’s worth noting that this area is designated as an alligator hunting zone, and Mississippi’s alligator hunting season opens on the last Friday in August each year, ending on September 4th in 2023.
