Liz Cheney hints at potential 2024 presidential bid
Former Rep. Liz Cheney Suggests Possible Entry into 2024 Presidential Election
In a recent interview, former Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) hinted at the possibility of joining the 2024 presidential race, despite it already being in progress.
During her appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper, Cheney expressed her stance on the election, stating, “I haven’t endorsed anybody in this presidential race, certainly would never support Donald Trump.” She emphasized the importance of paying attention to Trump’s words, especially for those familiar with autocracies and autocrats.
When Tapper asked if she was still considering running, Cheney replied, “I haven’t made any decisions about it yet. I’m going to do whatever is necessary to defeat Donald Trump.”
Tapper further inquired if Cheney would endorse Biden over Trump, to which she responded, “I’m not going to make any announcements or endorsements this morning. But the most important thing is to defeat Donald Trump, and I will do whatever, whatever it takes to do that.”
Cheney also expressed her support for former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley over Trump in the Republican Party primary, stating that it’s ”not a hard call at all.”
