Liz Cheney asserts Biden outshines Trump globally.
Former Rep. Liz Cheney Supports Biden’s Foreign Policies
Former Representative Liz Cheney made a bold statement on State of the Union Sunday, choosing to side with President Joe Biden’s foreign policies over those of his predecessor. In a lengthy segment that lasted over 30 minutes, Cheney provided her political analysis of former President Donald Trump’s performance compared to Biden’s. Host Jake Tapper posed the question of which president is “providing better leadership on the international stage.”
“Certainly Biden,” Cheney confidently declared.
Cheney took issue with Trump’s offensive remarks towards Israel’s heads of state, expressing her disapproval of his comments about Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Defense Minister of Israel. She referred to these remarks as “appalling.”
On the other hand, Biden faced criticism for his recent Oval Office speech, where he discussed both the conflict in Gaza between Israel and Hamas and the war in Ukraine against Russia. Cheney emphasized the importance of supporting Ukraine, stating that it is crucial for the United States to maintain its reputation worldwide.
“If you do not support aid to Ukraine, given the global atmosphere and the context in which we are living, you are, in fact, helping America’s adversaries,” Cheney argued. ”You are demonstrating weakness at precisely the moment when we need to be showing strength. So, it is dangerous and ill-informed.”
Cheney went even further, holding Trump responsible for the threats received by House GOP members who did not vote for Rep. Jim Jordan as speaker. She cited an anonymous colleague who claimed that the lawmakers themselves were to blame for the threats because they did not support Jordan. Cheney suggested that this acceptance of violence could be traced back to Trump’s time as president.
When asked about her potential presidential bid in 2024, Cheney revealed that she is still considering it.
