Laura Loomer meets with Vance months after advising Trump on disloyal, since-fired NSC staffers – Washington Examiner
Laura Loomer, a controversial right-wing media personality, recently met with Vice President JD vance, although the White House has clarified that she is not in an advisory role. Loomer has expressed a desire to assist President Trump and is known for her previous claims about the disloyalty of National Security Council members, which resulted in their dismissal. Despite her past interactions with Trump and her support for his agenda, she does not hold a press credential or formal position within the governance. Loomer’s provocative statements have drawn criticism, even from some Republicans. Her comments about political figures, including controversial remarks about President Biden’s health, further polarize opinions around her. While Trump indicated that he listens to her recommendations, the nature of their relationship remains elaborate and contentious.
Laura Loomer meets with Vance months after advising Trump on disloyal, since-fired NSC staffers
Laura Loomer, a fiery and controversial right-wing media personality, met with Vice President JD Vance on Tuesday.
The White House did not provide details of their conversation, but confirmed that it occurred. It also said Loomer is not serving in an advisory role to Vance, though she has sought out a Trump administration position.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt was asked at a press briefing if Loomer is “informally advising in any way,” and Leavitt said, “She is not.”
The Washington Examiner contacted Loomer but did not receive a response. Loomer expressed publicly in April that she wanted to work for President Donald Trump.
“I really want to work for President Trump,” she wrote in a post on X. “There is honestly nothing I want more than that.”
The last time Loomer visited the White House, several National Security Council staffers were fired shortly thereafter. She had claimed they were disloyal. Loomer has spoken with the president several times in the past and was spotted on the campaign trail with him last year. However, she does not have a White House press credential and does not work for the administration.
“I do think there’s a fear that I may ask questions about the loyalties of people in the White House,” she told CNN, “And they fear me having a national and global microphone to ask those questions.”
Loomer, the host of Loomer Unleashed and a former Project Veritas employee, has received mixed reactions from Republicans. She supports the president’s agenda and several of her reports have been vindicated, but she has often espoused controversial language, drawing criticism from both sides of the political aisle.
“Laura Loomer is a crazy conspiracy theorist who regularly utters disgusting garbage intended to divide Republicans,” Sen. Thom Tillis (R-NC) wrote on X in September 2024.
When former President Joe Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer last month, Loomer celebrated it as vindication of her own reporting. She suggested “he won’t be alive much longer” and that he’ll be sent to “hospice soon.” In July 2024, she reported that Biden was “dying and final preparations are being made for him.”
LOOMER SAYS SHE WANTS ROLE IN TRUMP ADMINISTRATION: ‘NOTHING I WANT MORE’
Trump said in April that he “sometimes” listens to Loomer’s recommendations.
“She makes recommendations on things and people, and sometimes I listen to those recommendations, like I do with everybody,” Trump told reporters. “I listen to everybody, and then I make a decision.”
