Kristi Noem strongly opposes Nikki Haley as Trump’s potential VP pick
Gov. Kristi Noem: Choosing Nikki Haley as Trump’s Running Mate Would Be a Mistake
“If he picked Nikki Haley, would that be a mistake?”
“Yes,”
“If he picked her, I would tell him I disagreed with him,” Noem said. However, she said it wouldn’t deter her from supporting the ticket “because he’s still the president, and the president still makes the decisions.”
The governor explained some of her opposition to Haley, telling Bolling, “I just had a lot of disagreements with Nikki Haley over the years, and I just don’t know which Nikki Haley is going to show up every day.”
“She’s a different person depending on whatever works for her political agenda,” she claimed.
The South Dakota Republican also said she had no new information about herself or others as possible running mates for Trump.
A Trump senior adviser told the Washington Examiner that it is far too early for such conversation about a vice presidential pick.
The topic of Haley as a running mate has emerged following speculation from Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R-FL) campaign that such a position was her end goal, as well as reports that Trump has been floating the idea to his advisers and that some allies are working furiously to quash the possible ticket.

Will Gov. Noem’s opinion have any influence on President Trump’s decision regarding his vice presidential pick
Gov. Kristi Noem made waves recently with her statement that choosing Nikki Haley as President Trump’s running mate would be a mistake. In an interview, Noem expressed her opposition to the idea of Haley being selected, citing her disagreements and uncertainty about Haley’s true character.
Noem stated unequivocally that if Trump were to choose Haley, she would tell him that she disagreed with his decision. However, she made it clear that this difference in opinion would not stop her from supporting the ticket, acknowledging that the president has the authority to make his own decisions.
The governor went on to explain her reservations about Haley, questioning which version of her would show up each day. In Noem’s view, Haley’s political agenda seems to influence her personality, leading to a lack of consistency. This inconsistency raises concerns about her reliability as a running mate.
Noem also clarified that she had no new information about herself or any other potential running mates for Trump. It is worth noting that a Trump senior adviser recently stated that it is too early to engage in discussions regarding who Trump’s vice presidential pick might be.
The idea of Nikki Haley as Trump’s running mate has gained attention due to speculation from Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, who suggested that Haley’s ultimate goal was to secure the vice presidential position. Additionally, reports have emerged that Trump has been considering Haley for the role and that certain allies are actively working to prevent this potential ticket.
In other news, Gov. Noem and President Trump are scheduled to speak at a campaign rally in Sioux City, Iowa. This event comes amid ongoing discussions regarding Haley as a potential running mate and represents yet another opportunity for Noem and Trump to connect with their supporters.
As the 2020 Presidential election continues to unfold, the question of Trump’s running mate will undoubtedly be an area of intrigue and speculation. Gov. Noem’s stance against the selection of Nikki Haley adds another layer to this political saga, positioning herself as a voice of dissent within her own party. Whether or not her opinion will have any impact on the ultimate decision remains to be seen, but it is clear that Noem is not afraid to speak her mind on this matter.
