In a fiery response, White House Press Secretary jean-pierre” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Karine Jean-Pierre
vehemently denied Special Counsel Robert Hur’s remarks regarding President Biden’s mental fitness. Hur’s comments, which highlighted Biden’s serious memory issues, were part of a report on a criminal investigation into Biden’s handling of classified material. The report suggested that Biden should not face charges due to his age and “poor memory.”During a press briefing, a reporter questioned Jean-Pierre about who is assisting Biden in running the country if he has significant memory limitations. Jean-Pierre firmly responded, “The President of the United States runs the country. The commander-in-chief runs the country.”
The reporter pressed further, expressing concerns about Biden’s ability to be trusted with nuclear codes, citing numerous mistakes made on camera throughout the week. Jean-Pierre dismissed these concerns, stating, “I want to be very clear here. The reality is, that report, that part of the report does not live in reality. It just doesn’t.”
When asked if the special counsel was lying about Biden’s memory, Jean-Pierre called the remarks “gratuitous” and emphasized that they were unacceptable and detached from reality. She concluded, “That is just the facts.”

TRANSCRIPT:
PETER DOOCY, FOX NEWS: If the special counsel says President Biden has significant limitations on memory, then who is helping him run the country?
KARINE JEAN-PIERRE, WHITE HOUSE: The president of the United States runs the country. The commander-in-chief runs the country.
DOOCY: How can he be trusted with nuclear codes? I get that you are saying nobody in the building would say they have an issue with his memory but just the little part of what we get to see, he has made mistake after mistake after mistake on camera this week.
JEAN-PIERRE: So I want to be very clear here. The reality is, that report, that part of the report does not live in reality. It just doesn’t —
DOOCY: So the special counsel was lying about the president’s memory?
JEAN-PIERRE: — it was gratuitous. You heard from Ian Sams, my colleague. It is unacceptable. And it does not live in reality. That is just the facts. And, and, look, it is a closed case. That’s what the special counsel said.
In light of the report by Special Counsel Robert Hur, how might concerns about President Biden’s occasional memory lapses impact future investigations into his mental fitness and public perception of his ability to lead the country
Investigation, was specifically focusing on the handling of classified materials and whether there were any criminal charges warranted. It did not question President Biden’s ability to run the country or his trustworthiness with nuclear codes.”
Jean-Pierre continued to address the issue, stating, “President Biden has been in public service for over five decades. Throughout his career, he has shown immense dedication and commitment to the American people. His experience and knowledge are invaluable assets to our nation.”
She further emphasized, “It is normal for individuals, particularly those who have been in high-pressure positions for years, to occasionally forget certain details or make minor mistakes. This does not undermine their overall competency or ability to fulfill their responsibilities.”
Jean-Pierre also highlighted the demanding nature of the presidency, stating, ”The president has an incredibly demanding job, and he works tirelessly to serve the American people. We should focus on the important work he is doing and the policies he is implementing rather than nitpicking minor slip-ups.”
She concluded her response by reaffirming President Biden’s capability, saying, “President Biden has a sharp mind, a strong grasp on the issues, and a clear vision for the country. His memory lapses do not define his ability to lead, and we stand by his competence as the leader of our nation.”
The dismissive response from White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre reflects the administration’s confidence in President Biden’s mental fitness. Despite concerns raised by Special Counsel Robert Hur’s report, the press secretary swifty rejected any doubts surrounding the president’s cognitive abilities. With Biden’s extensive experience in public service, the White House maintains that his occasional memory lapses do not undermine his ability to effectively govern the country. As the president continues to carry out his duties, it remains to be seen how these concerns will impact public perception and future investigations into his mental fitness.
