White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre Responds to Claims of President Biden’s Exhaustion
During a press conference, White House Press Secretary jean-pierre” target=”_blank” rel=”noopener”>Karine Jean-Pierre faced questions regarding excerpts from a new book that suggest President Joe Biden has expressed feelings of exhaustion, leading to a lack of morning events.
A reporter brought up the book titled “The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future,” and asked Jean-Pierre about the claims made in it.
“The Guardian has published excerpts today stating that the president has privately admitted feeling tired, which supposedly explains the scarcity of events before 10:00 a.m.,” the reporter stated. “So, two questions: Is this the reason for the recent ‘brunch lids’? Today, we even had a ‘breakfast lid.’ And has the president confirmed this to you—”
Jean-Pierre interrupted, seeking clarification on whether the reporter believed the lids were implemented solely because of the book’s claims and not due to Biden’s fatigue.
“Not because of the excerpt. The book suggests that the president tells aides he’s tired,” the reporter clarified, adding, “That’s why there have been so few public events before 10:00 a.m.”
“I mean, that’s a ridiculous assumption to make,” Jean-Pierre responded firmly. “I mean, that’s a ridiculous assumption to— to make.”

There’s a new book coming, ”The Last Politician: Inside Joe — Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future.” The Guardian has excerpts today saying the President has told aides in private that he felt tired and that explains why there are so few events before 10:00 a.m.
So, two questions: Is this why we’re seeing brunch lids in recent weeks? Today, we had a breakfast lid. And has the President admitted to you —
MS. JEAN-PIERRE: Wait, say that last part.
REPORTER: So, is that why we had a breakfast lid this morning? I mean, there — the book is —
