Kevin Sorbo: Hollywood’s Attack on Masculinity
Kevin Sorbo, the renowned actor, recently spoke exclusively to The Daily Wire about the ongoing attacks on masculinity in our culture. In his interview, he discussed his motivation behind writing his new children’s book, “Test of Lionhood.”
The 64-year-old actor explained that his book revolves around a lion cub who embarks on a transformative journey, facing his fears and embracing a quest that ultimately leads him to courage and strength in order to save his sister. Sorbo chose to target a younger audience with his book because he believes it is crucial for children to understand the importance of embracing their true identities: “let boys be boys and let girls be girls.”
According to Sorbo, our public education system, television, and movies have been promoting the idea of toxic masculinity for decades, attempting to make men more feminine and women more masculine. He firmly believes that it is essential to teach our kids what true masculinity looks like, drawing inspiration from biblical values.

Sorbo emphasized the importance of raising boys to become strong men who can lead their families and communities in a positive direction. He believes that being a provider, as called for in the Bible, does not diminish the role of women. Sorbo expressed concern about the attack on the family unit, particularly fatherhood, not only in the entertainment industry but in all aspects of our lives.
He pointed out that while the Bible teaches us to honor fathers, sitcoms often portray fathers in a negative light. Sorbo believes that a generation of confused men is easier to control through public schools, universities, TV, movies, and government. He believes that his conservative and Christian values have led to rejection from those who seek to undermine traditional masculinity.
Despite these challenges, Sorbo sees a glimmer of hope. He believes that people are growing tired of the woke agenda pushed by Hollywood. He cited the success of the independent film “Sound of Freedom,” which outperformed Disney’s latest “Indiana Jones” movie at the domestic box office. Sorbo believes that Hollywood is on the verge of losing billions of dollars due to the public’s fatigue with woke culture.
Sorbo acknowledged that a culture battle is underway, with Hollywood currently in the lead. However, he believes that the tide is turning as more people reject the woke message.
