Former NBA Star Enes Kanter Freedom Responds to WNBA Player’s Anti-American Comments
Former NBA star Enes Kanter Freedom had some sage advice for Natasha Cloud, a WNBA player who recently called the United States “trash” and labeled anyone who criticized her as a “racist.” Kanter Freedom, known for his activism and defense of liberty, responded to Cloud’s anti-American tirade by reminding her of the blessings of being an American.
Cloud’s Anti-American Rants
Natasha Cloud, a guard for the ultra-woke WNBA’s Washington Mystics, ignited controversy with her tweet stating, “Our country is trash in so many ways. And instead of using our resources to make it better we continue to oppress Marginalized groups that we have targeted since the beginning of times.” She continued to double down on her hatred for America, even in the face of criticism.
Our country is trash in so many ways and instead of using our resources to make it better we continue to oppress Marginalized groups that we have targeted since the beginning of times.
Black/brown communities& LGBTQ+ man we are too powerful to still be attacking issues separate

Cloud’s anger stemmed from a recent U.S. Supreme Court ruling that upheld the free speech and religious freedom of a Colorado Christian who refused to create a wedding website for a gay couple. She expressed her frustration with the country’s perceived shortcomings and accused America of moving backward.
Kanter Freedom’s Response
Enes Kanter Freedom, no stranger to speaking out against oppression, had enough of Cloud’s unfounded claims. He invited her to tour oppressive nations like China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, and Turkey, emphasizing that criticizing those regimes would result in severe consequences.
Just ask your colleague Brittney Griner how “trash” America is.
Calling America trash huh?
Let me know when your season is over, I’ll buy your ticket and we can go together to countries like China, Russia, IRAN, North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba, & Turkey.
Forget about calling them trash, I would like to see if you can even criticize those regimes!! You and your family members would be thrown in jail, tortured to death, and raped.— Enes FREEDOM (@EnesFreedom) July 3, 2023
Cloud responded by asserting that Kanter Freedom should respect her “lived experience” as a black gay woman in America. However, Kanter Freedom’s journey from Turkey, where he faced persecution for speaking out against the government, to becoming a U.S. citizen and NBA player, is far more admirable than Cloud’s privileged upbringing and millionaire status.
While Cloud may harbor resentment towards America, Kanter Freedom reminds her of the freedoms and opportunities she enjoys as an American. His response serves as a powerful reminder of the privileges and blessings that come with being a citizen of the United States.
