Kansas Gov. Laura Kelly (D) has yet to regain her emergency powers.  The state’s Supreme Court agreed to examine a lower court’s ruling, which stated limits on emergency powers were unconstitutional.

Tuesday’s decision temporarily restored the right of business owners to challenge the Democrat governor’s mandates. This comes after a bill, which aimed to give local leadership more autonomy, was blocked by a district court judge’s highly criticized ruling.

The Kansas high court promised to make a final decision as quickly as possibly before case briefs were due on September 16.
