Kamala Harris Dodges Question on Abortion Limits
Vice President Kamala Harris Dodges Questions on Abortion Limits
Vice President Kamala Harris found herself in a hot seat during a recent interview as she repeatedly avoided answering whether there should be any limits surrounding abortions. The interview, conducted by Margaret Brennan on CBS News’ “Face The Nation,” aired on Sunday.
When Brennan pressed Harris on her stance, asking about the specific week of pregnancy when abortion access should be cut off, Harris responded with a vague statement. “We need to restore the protections of Roe v. Wade,” she said. “We’re not trying to do something new–”
However, Brennan persisted, seeking clarity on the matter. She asked if there needed to be specific terms defining the limits of abortion guarantees. Harris once again evaded the question, reiterating the need to reinstate the protections of Roe v. Wade.
As the interview continued, Brennan pointed out that Republicans have criticized Democrat policies for allowing abortions up until the moment of birth. Harris dismissed this claim as a mischaracterization, calling it “ridiculous.”
Despite the pressure, Harris remained evasive, refusing to provide a clear answer. “We need to put into law the protections of Roe v. Wade,” she stated.
