Judge halts Donald Trump business license cancellations.
A Democratic-appointed judge halts cancellation of Trump’s business licenses
A judge appointed by former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo has ordered a pause on the cancellation of some of former President Donald Trump’s business licenses. This comes after another judge ruled that Trump had committed fraud by inflating his net worth and the worth of his company.
“We thank the Appellate Division for staying the NY Attorney General’s and Judge Engoron’s overzealous attempt to cancel our New York business certificates,” the Trump Organization said in a statement.
“Judge Engoron’s order erroneously sought to adjudicate the rights of non-party business entities that employ nearly 1,000 hard-working New Yorkers, have never been accused of any wrongdoing and, were never given their day in court – in clear violation of their fundamental Constitutional rights and Due Process.”
“We will continue to vigorously defend our company and our incredible employees from this politically-motivated persecution.”
The order to pause the cancellations came after a hearing where Trump’s defense attorney argued that dissolving the licenses would cause chaos. However, the judge denied the request to postpone the civil fraud trial, meaning it will proceed as scheduled.
The trial stems from a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who alleges fraud by the Trump Organization. The trial is expected to continue until the end of December, with Trump and his sons expected to testify as witnesses.

In a recent development, a judge appointed by former New York Governor Andrew Cuomo has put a halt on the cancellation of some of former President Donald Trump’s business licenses. This decision came after another judge ruled that Trump had committed fraud by inflating both his net worth and the worth of his company.

Furthermore, they strongly emphasized their commitment to vigorously defend their company and employees from what they perceive as politically-motivated persecution.
The order to pause the cancellations followed a hearing where Trump’s defense attorney argued against the dissolution of the licenses, warning of potential chaos. Nevertheless, the judge declined the request to postpone the civil fraud trial, meaning it will proceed as scheduled.
This trial originates from a lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who has alleged fraud by the Trump Organization. The trial is expected to span until the end of December, during which Trump and his sons are anticipated to testify as witnesses.
