Joy Behar slips The View is going on ‘hiatus’ after this week

Joy Behar, co-host of the talk show *The View*, revealed during the Thursday episode that the show will go on hiatus after Friday’s broadcast. While discussing President Donald Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein examination, Behar mentioned the upcoming break, drawing laughter from her co-hosts and the live audience. In the same discussion, behar expressed the view that the “tide is turning” against Trump and suggested it would be ironic if *Wall Street Journal* owner Rupert Murdoch, who once supported Trump, were to “take him down,” referring to Trump’s ongoing lawsuit against Murdoch and the publication over a report involving trump’s alleged birthday message to Epstein. Joy Behar slips The View is going on ‘hiatus’ after this week

The View’s Joy Behar revealed the talk show will be on hiatus after Friday, making the slipup during Thursday’s episode.

Behar and her co-hosts were discussing President Donald Trump’s handling of the Jeffrey Epstein investigation when she made the revelation.

“And before we go on hiatus, we only have one more show after this. I’m allowed to say that, right?” Behar said on The View Thursday.

“Too late now!” said one of Behar’s co-hosts. The comment drew laughter from the show’s live audience.

Behar also said “the tide is turning” against Trump and that the “ultimate irony” would be for Wall Street Journal owner Rupert Murdoch to “take him down.” She was referring to the lawsuit Trump filed against Murdoch for a report the Wall Street Journal published.

“Fox News, who created the monster, will take him down,” Behar said.

Trump sued Murdoch and two reporters who wrote a report on his relationship with Epstein. The report claimed Trump had written a birthday message to Epstein, with the letter including a drawing of a nude woman.

‘THE VIEW’ TORCHES TRUMP FOR ACCUSING OBAMA OF TREASON: ‘DANGEROUS’

Trump slammed “everyone involved in publishing the false, malicious, defamatory, FAKE NEWS ‘article’” Friday and is seeking a minimum of $10 billion in damages.

The Washington Examiner’s Salena Zito is among the skeptics regarding the letter’s legitimacy, pointing out, “That’s not his signature,” on Sunday.

The View’s hiatus comes eight months after it had its largest viewership in over a decade, drawing 4.47 million viewers on Nov. 6, the morning after the 2024 election. The last time the show had a similar-sized audience was in May 2014, when former co-host Barbara Walters conducted her final episode.
