Jordan claims Garland & Weiss had clear intentions to conceal Hunter Biden’s tax evasion linked to Joe Biden.
Republicans Ramp Up Efforts to Impeach Joe Biden and Investigate Hunter Biden
According to Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), both Attorney General Merrick Garland and special counsel David Weiss were “definitely” planning to cover up the investigation into Hunter Biden, which has now become a central focus of the impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
House Republicans have been relentless in their pursuit of the president’s son, aiming to impeach Joe Biden over his alleged involvement in his son’s foreign business dealings. Jordan revealed that Biden had used “American tax dollars” to assist his son with Burisma, a Ukrainian company.
“And then what does the Garland Justice Department do?” Jordan questioned. “They try to sweep it under the rug, so much so that they allowed the statute of limitations to lapse for the most serious tax, felony tax concerns Hunter Biden had in 2014 and 2015. They let it lapse because those were the years that dealt with the Burisma income.”
Jordan, the House Judiciary Committee Chairman, emphasized that his committee would diligently investigate Garland and Weiss, fulfilling their “constitutional duty” by delving deeper into the Hunter Biden investigation.
During a hearing on Wednesday, Garland faced intense scrutiny from the Judiciary Committee regarding allegations of mishandling the Department of Justice’s long-running investigation into Hunter Biden. However, Garland consistently maintained that he had stayed out of the investigation.
Weiss, on the other hand, asserted that he had never been prevented from pursuing charges in any jurisdiction and that he possessed all the necessary authority for the case, except for a procedural hurdle requiring “special attorney” status.
Jordan announced that Weiss had agreed to testify before the committee on October 18.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) has scheduled a hearing for September 28 to address the impeachment inquiry against Biden. The hearing will explore the “constitutional and legal questions surrounding the president’s involvement in corruption and abuse of public office,” according to a committee spokesperson. The White House has criticized this date due to the looming possibility of a government shutdown before the September 30 deadline.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy has confirmed that Hunter Biden will be subpoenaed in this investigation. However, he expressed the need for more evidence to surface before summoning the younger Biden to testify before Congress.

What evidence has been found in the trove of emails and documents allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden that raises questions about his business dealings?
R the rug. They try to cover it up. They try to make sure that no one knows what the Biden family was up to.”
This latest push by Republicans to impeach President Biden and investigate his son comes after the release of a trove of emails and other documents allegedly belonging to Hunter Biden. These documents were found on a laptop abandoned at a Delaware repair shop and were turned over to the FBI.
The contents of the emails and documents have raised questions about Hunter Biden’s business dealings in Ukraine and China, and the potential influence that these connections may have had on the Biden family. Republicans argue that President Biden was aware of and possibly benefited from his son’s foreign business ventures.
Despite the Democrats’ efforts to dismiss the emails as “Russian disinformation” and downplay their significance, Republicans are determined to dig deeper. They argue that the emails highlight a pattern of corruption within the Biden family and warrant further investigation.
Republicans assert that the impeachment inquiry is not about vengeance or partisanship, but rather about holding the president accountable for any potential wrongdoing. They argue that the evidence against Joe Biden and Hunter Biden is too significant to ignore, and that the American people deserve the truth.
However, Democrats view this latest push by Republicans as purely political. They argue that Republicans are simply trying to tarnish President Biden’s reputation and distract from his agenda. They claim that the impeachment inquiry and investigation into Hunter Biden are baseless and motivated by partisan interests.
Republicans find themselves in a difficult position as they seek to gather support for their efforts. The 2022 midterm elections loom on the horizon, and Republicans hope that pursuing impeachment and investigations will yield electoral gains. However, they must balance this political calculation with the need to present a strong legal and ethical case against the president.
The impeachment inquiry into President Biden and the investigation into Hunter Biden are likely to consume significant time and resources in Congress. The political divide between Republicans and Democrats will only deepen as both sides put forward their narratives and arguments.
The outcome of these efforts remains uncertain. Republicans face an uphill battle in gaining enough support to successfully impeach President Biden, especially with Democrats controlling both chambers of Congress. Furthermore, any investigation into Hunter Biden will have to overcome numerous legal and procedural hurdles.
As the Republicans ramp up their efforts to impeach President Biden and investigate Hunter Biden, the political landscape will undoubtedly become even more contentious. The American people will be left to contend with the question of whether these actions are truly about accountability or merely political theater.
Ultimately, the truth will be determined through the ongoing investigations and any subsequent legal proceedings. Until then, the country will grapple with the consequences of a deeply divided political environment and the potential impact on future elections.
