Jonathan Turley slams the FBI: ‘Where evidence goes to die’
Jonathan Turley Warns of FBI Bias in Protecting Biden Family
George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley issued a stark warning about the FBI, suggesting that the bureau is more focused on safeguarding the Biden family than pursuing justice.
During an appearance on “Fox News Sunday,” Turley reacted to a clip of Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblower Joseph Ziegler who revealed that he had not seen the recently-disclosed FD-1023 form outlining allegations of a bribery scheme involving Hunter Biden and President Joe Biden. Ziegler, who worked as the lead IRS case agent in the criminal case against Hunter Biden, expressed concerns about the handling of evidence.
According to Turley, “It increasingly seems like the FBI is the place where evidence goes to die,” emphasizing that any evidence connected to the Biden name “dies a very rapid death.”
Conservative Concerns Over FBI Politicization
Turley’s comments reflect a growing sense of unease among conservatives who have raised concerns about politicization within the FBI. This fear has been fueled by various controversies in recent years, including the use of the infamous “Steele dossier” in the Trump-Russia investigation.

Recently, Senator Chuck Grassley (R-IA) released a partially redacted copy of the FD-1023 form. This form contains allegations of a bribery scheme involving Joe Biden and a Ukrainian business executive during his time as vice president. Hunter Biden’s involvement with Burisma Holdings, a gas company, is also mentioned.
Both Ziegler and his supervisor, Gary Shapley, testified before lawmakers, alleging that the investigation into Hunter Biden had been deliberately delayed, potentially shielding him from more serious charges. The FD-1023 form contains notes from 2020, detailing a confidential human source’s claims about the bribery scheme.
Questions have been raised by GOP lawmakers, including Grassley, about the verification or dismissal of the informant’s claims. U.S. Attorney David Weiss, who is leading the Hunter Biden inquiry, has refrained from commenting on the allegations due to the ongoing investigation.
Turley emphasized that the FD-1023 form aligns with the financial records being examined by GOP congressional investigators. These records raise concerns about large sums of money flowing to the Biden family from foreign nationals under suspicious circumstances.
While Democrats in Congress dismiss these inquiries as politically motivated, President Biden has dismissed allegations of corruption as “a bunch of malarkey.” The FBI, in a statement, expressed disappointment that the release of the FD-1023 form jeopardized the safety of confidential sources and the integrity of sensitive investigations.
