Johnny Depp Comeback In Full Swing After Landing Multi-Year, Seven-Figure Deal: Report

Actor Johnny Depp’s comeback appears to be in full swing after he reportedly landed a multi-year, seven-figure deal to continue as the celebrity face of Dior’s bestselling Sauvage cologne.

The 59-year-old actor reportedly signed a new contract with the fashion house after first agreeing to promote the brand in 2015, TMZ reported. Sources told the outlet Depp did a photo shoot with fashion photographer Greg Williams before performing in a rock concert with Jeff Beck in Paris that would be used in a new Dior advertising campaign.

It comes after the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star appeared in a series of black-and-white photos posted on Dior Beauty’s Instagram account on Monday that were captured backstage before a Paris performance.

Dior captioned the post, “Backstage at [Olympia Hall] before the last show. Fearless yet human, just like Sauvage. Photo: [Greg Williams photography] #DiorBeauty #DiorParfums #DiorSauvage.”

The “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” star has been working on turning his career around after winning a $10 million judgment against his ex-wife, actress Amber Heard, in a highly-publicized defamation trial.

In June, a jury found the “Aquaman” star had defamed Depp in an op-ed the actress penned in The Washington Post in 2018 about domestic violence.

Following the verdict, Johnny released a lengthy statement thanking the jury for giving him his “life back.”

“False, very serious and criminal allegations were levied at me via the media, which triggered an endless barrage of hateful content, although no charges were ever brought against me,” Depp’s statement read, in part.

“It had already traveled around the world twice within a nanosecond and it had a seismic impact on my life and my career,” Depp added, as he explained that he pursued the case in the first place to “reveal the truth.”

“And six years later, the jury gave me my life back,” the actor continued. “I am truly humbled.”
