Concha argued that one didn’t need medical expertise to recognize Biden’s struggles wiht his cognitive abilities, citing numerous public gaffes and physical mishaps during his presidency. He contended that Psaki’s insistence on the narrative that everything was fine contradicts observable reality and accused her of covering up the situation to protect the administration. Psaki, responding to accusations of a cover-up, claimed that the term was excessively charged and pointed to right-wing media coverage of Biden’s errors instead.

Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha slammed Jen Psaki for not having the “eyesight, hearing, sanity, and sobriety” to see former President Joe Biden’s mental decline.
Psaki defended the Biden administration that once employed her by suggesting during an interview on Mixed Signals that it didn’t cover up Biden’s aging, saying that it just happened “quite quickly.” She served as the White House press secretary during the first half of Biden’s term.
In the months since Biden left office, many revelations have emerged about his mental acuity while he was president, even before and during his reelection bid.
“Enough of this narrative by Jen Psaki that you only needed to be close to Joe Biden to notice his brain turning into fettuccine. She said at one point during that interview, ‘I’m not a doctor, I couldn’t provide the proper prognosis.’ You don’t need to be a doctor,” Concha said on Fox News’s Hannity Monday. “You simply needed eyesight, hearing, sanity, and sobriety to listen to Joe talk about conversations that he’s had with world leaders who have literally been dead for decades. To see him fall onstage, to see him fall off his bike, to fall up the stairs, to hear him forget the names of his own Cabinet members, including his own defense secretary at one point, to see him run off to Delaware or other vacation homes for 40% of his presidency.”
When asked about her fellow White House staff covering up Biden’s state, Psaki said “cover-up” was a “loaded term.” Instead, she pointed to “right-wing” media outlets for reporting on Biden’s early gaffes in office.
“You’d think she’d say in retrospect that maybe she could have said something, but her job was to protect the president, protect the administration, and its agenda. But maybe she could have been more forthcoming. Instead she insists that everything she witnessed was hunky dory and that’s why ‘Peppermint Patty’ is totally discredited and working at a totally discredited network otherwise known as MSNBC, that even now she can’t admit that,” Concha said. “She covered it up, and she knows it.”

Psaki denied that Biden was ever caught sleeping in his office between 2019 and 2022. However, she didn’t deny Biden’s poor performance in his debate against Donald Trump and claimed she didn’t recognize the then-president.
Host Ben Smith pushed back on Psaki about Biden’s perceived regressing mental state, asking, “They were correct, weren’t they?” Psaki, who said Biden appeared sharp in her interactions with him, responded, “That may be.”
