Joe Concha says Jay Jones’s campaign is the Democratic Party’s ‘permission slip to violence’

The article reports on criticism from Joe Concha, senior writer at the Washington Examiner, directed at the Democratic Party for not demanding that Jay Jones withdraw from the Virginia attorney general race despite controversial text messages. Jones reportedly wished death on his Republican opponent Todd Gilbert, including violent language such as suggesting Gilbert should be shot and making disrespectful remarks about deceased Republican lawmakers. Concha and others argue that the Democratic Party’s silence effectively gives Jones a “permission slip to violence.” While some Democrats, including gubernatorial candidate Abigail Spanberger, have condemned Jones’s texts, none have publicly called for him to drop out. meanwhile, Republicans, including former President Donald Trump, have urged Democrats to remove Jones from the race. The controversy remains a point of political debate amid the Virginia election campaign.

Joe Concha says Jay Jones’s campaign is the Democratic Party’s ‘permission slip to violence’

Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha slammed the Democratic Party for refusing to demand that Jay Jones drop out of this year’s Virginia attorney general race.

“No Democrat has said that Jay Jones should drop out of the race,” Concha said on Fox Business’s Kudlow on Wednesday. “He wished death on his opponent — Republican opponent Todd Gilbert — said he should get two bullets to the head. This is in writing.”

“Also said he wanted to piss on the graves of Republican lawmakers in Virginia. That’s the word he used. Then he said more cops need to die in order for things to change and he’s running for attorney general? And not one Democrat is saying drop out of the race. It’s a permission slip to violence,” Concha said.

Jones also faced backlash for wishing death on Gilbert’s children. However, despite the scandal, he remains the Democratic nominee

“Not one Democrat?” host Larry Kudlow responded. “My riff this evening was: shame on Democrats, just for this reason. They don’t speak up against these outrages. And these outrages and this language leads to violence. I thought we learned this.”

HERE ARE THE GROUPS TRUMP HAS DESIGNATED AS TERRORIST ORGANIZATIONS

Democrats have not called on Jones to drop out of the race. Former Democratic Virginia Rep. Abigail Spanberger, who is currently running for governor, has condemned Jones’s texts, but has not called on him to drop out of the race, similar to other notable Democrats.

Meanwhile, Republicans, including President Donald Trump, have called on Democrats to force Jones to drop out of the Virginia attorney general election.
