Joe Concha mocks ‘unserious candidate’ Jasmine Crockett
Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha has forecasted that Democratic Representative Jasmine Crockett of Texas is unlikely to win her upcoming Senate race against incumbent Republican senator John Cornyn. Speaking on Fox News’ “Fox and Friends First,” Concha described Crockett as an “unserious candidate” whose campaign is more about gaining media attention than securing victory. He suggested that if she loses, Crockett might transition to a television career, perhaps joining networks like CNN or MSNBC. Crockett announced her Senate run shortly after Democrat Colin Allred withdrew from teh race, while other Democratic and Republican candidates, including State Rep. James Talarico and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, are also vying for the seat. The Republican primary is expected to be particularly competitive ahead of the general election.
Joe Concha makes bleak prediction for ‘unserious candidate’ Jasmine Crockett
Washington Examiner senior writer Joe Concha predicted that Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) will lose her bid for the Senate next year.
Concha appeared on Fox News’s Fox and Friends First on Tuesday, the day after Crockett announced she is running against Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) next year. According to Concha, Crockett is more likely to “make the leap to television” than win the Senate seat.
“I don’t even think Crockett has any illusions of herself winning this race. I mean, this is a cartoon character,” Concha said. “She’s gonna run, she’s gonna lose, and then most likely make the leap to television, whether it be the next cohost of The View, a permanent panelist on Abby Phillips’s ridiculous CNN prime-time show, or maybe Jen Psaki’s cohost on MSNBC.”
“This is an unserious candidate who values attention to herself more than anything else, guys, and that’s what this run is all about: not to win, just for the attention she’s gonna get for the next year,” Concha said.
ABBOTT PREDICTS DOOM FOR CROCKETT IF SHE ENTERS CROWDED TEXAS SENATE RACE
Hours before Crockett announced her candidacy, Senate candidate Collin Allred dropped out of the Democratic primary and opted to run for a seat in the House of Representatives instead. Allred previously served in the House but left to pursue a Senate bid against Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). State Rep. James Talarico remains in the race as another Democratic candidate.
The Republican primary will be crowded ahead of the general election, as Cornyn is running for reelection against state Attorney General Ken Paxton and Rep. Wesley Hunt (R-TX).
