Jim Ross Lightfoot: I’m Angry

I don’t know about you, but I am sick and tired of being called a racist, fascist, and a threat to our republic.

In my humble opinion, we have a President who has gone entirely off the rails.  He is not uniting as our President should be; he’s a divider.  He cannot talk about going to lunch without turning it into something negative about Republicans.  He is no longer the loyal opposition but, sadly, has become the enemy of the country our forefathers put together some 246 years ago.

For whatever it’s worth, I feel that the midterm elections are in danger.  A lot of the polling shows otherwise, but I think we are starting to see it move in favor of the Democrats.  Republicans have a habit of eating their own.  Liz Cheney is the chef of that banquet right now.  There are many Republicans that will follow her lead.

I am not saying Donald Trump is the answer to everything; however, he made a massive impact on moving us back in the direction our founders intended us to go. He upset the Washington establishment because he is not a politician.  He’s a businessman, a concept many in politics don’t comprehend.  He wouldn’t play their game.  This upset the Democrats and several Republicans, many in senior positions. As I wrote in an op-ed piece several weeks back, Trump has been the perfect foil.  He sends out text messages that are sometimes very abrasive and don’t make much sense. He says things he has to retract.  He has some other personal habits that are irritating to some people.

The National Democrats have fallen into a very predictable pattern.  If you are a Republican candidate, you are guaranteed that what you are being accused of is precisely what the Democrats are doing.  Twisting the facts don’t matter; it’s getting people to distrust a conservative candidate.  Another tool they are using effectively is a short word: hate.

It was used against me back in 1996 when I ran against Senator Tom Harkin in Iowa. Harkin sent people to Navarro County, Texas, to dig through the courthouse files looking for something they could use against me.  I was told they left the courthouse in shambles.  They couldn’t find anything.

I have always had strong backing from the Christian community.  I am part of it.  Harkin’s people thought it would guarantee Harkin’s victory if they could drive a wedge between me and my Christion block of supporters.

They took our marriage documents from Navarro County and changed the dates to make it appear our son was illegitimate.  An issue that would drive that wedge.  Fortunately, the chief political reporter in Iowa, David Yepsen, with the Des Moines Register, brought the document to me and asked me if it was true. Whether it was the look on my face or David just trusted me when I told him it was totally false, he threw the press release in the trash can. The story was never printed.  It was an attempt to attack me personally and destroy my credibility and reputation as a human being.

Sadly, the Democrats have discovered it’s far easier to beat a candidate with hatred than with the issues.  Forget issues; fire up your base in any way you can; divide and conquer is their game plan.  The uproar they created around Trump is designed to destroy him and, number two, to destroy Republicans.  The hatred that has been fanned up has moved some Republicans to become weak in their support and may stay home on election day. It also has blinded some Democrats who would likely vote for a more moderate candidate.  Unfortunately, they are so fired up with hatred that they don’t see that their party has been hijacked and turned into a political machine for the extreme far left.  They hate Trump so much that common sense has been swept under the rug.  Drinking the KoolAid blinds a person from reality.

Come November, many Republicans that have become disenchanted with Trump and, by association, their own political party will stay home and not vote.  Any crossover Democrats that supported Trump will stay home.  The person running at the top of the Republican ticket, whether it be Trump if the Democrat-controlled FBI hasn’t put him in jail yet, Ron De Santos, Governor of Florida, or someone else, will be facing a huge mountain to climb.

The mega-wealthy far-left supporters of the Democrats like George Soroa are pouring millions of dollars into various state elections.  Here in Texas, they have mounted a nuclear attack against Governor Abbott.  Due to so many people moving here from expensive states such as California due to Texas having no income tax and vehicle registration only $75 per year, the majority being far-left Democrats, our traditional conservative state has been shifted to the left.

Governor Abbott’s opponent is an empty suit named Beto O Rourke. He is less than 5-8 points away from Abbott according to an average of the last seven reliable polls in the state. The Governor faces another issue: he is under 50% in all seven of the polls.  That is not a good sign.  Add to all this the millions of illegals Biden is allowing to flow into our state; who knows how many of these people will take the mail-in ballot approach of Michelle Obama to influence our election?  Biden is buying votes with your money.

His forgiveness of student loans is another “buy votes with your money” scheme.  His press secretary constantly lies to the American people saying the border is secure.  It’s not, folks.  We watch thousands of illegals coming across the Rio Grande daily on local TV.  The major TV networks don’t seem interested.  The one exception is Fox.

I’m worried our Ship of State is like the Titanic.  We are headed for a vast iceberg that will break our ship apart in an effort by the extreme left in control of the Democrat party, attempting to send God, country, family, and community to the bottom of a Socialist ocean.

Are enough patriots left to stand up and ensure this does not happen?  For the sake of our children and grandchildren, I pray there are.
