Jim Jordan seeks meeting with prosecutor accused of hindering Hunter Biden investigation.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan Wants to Speak with Federal Prosecutor Accused of Hindering Hunter Biden Investigation

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) expressed his desire to have a conversation with the federal prosecutor, Assistant U.S. Attorney Lesley Wolf, who has been accused by an Internal Revenue Service (IRS) whistleblower of impeding the investigation into Hunter Biden.

During an interview on Fox News’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Jordan specifically mentioned Wolf, who has been accused of obstructing certain lines of inquiry related to Hunter Biden’s father, President Joe Biden, and allegedly tipping off Hunter Biden’s legal team about an upcoming search of a storage unit.

“She limited what they could do in their investigation. I mean, that is just as wrong as it gets,” Jordan passionately told anchor Maria Bartiromo.

“We want to make sure we get a chance to talk to this Lesley Wolf, the assistant U.S. attorney who was handling this case in [U.S. Attorney David] Weiss’ office there in Delaware,” Jordan added. “We think that’s important as we move forward with this investigation.”

Whistleblower Allegations and Controversy

The allegations against Wolf were revealed in a whistleblower disclosure to Congress by IRS supervisory special agent Gary Shapley, who claimed that the Hunter Biden investigation was being mishandled, potentially for political reasons.

On Tuesday, Weiss announced that Hunter Biden, 53, had agreed to plead guilty to two tax charges and enter a pretrial diversion agreement for a gun violation, with the proceedings to be scheduled by a U.S. district court judge.

However, as revealed in the documents released by the GOP-led House Ways and Means Committee on Thursday, Shapley and another IRS whistleblower claimed that IRS investigators recommended additional charges in other jurisdictions against Hunter Biden.

Despite the alleged actions of Wolf that hindered the investigation, Shapley asserted that she even supported additional charges, but they were rejected by more senior attorneys. Additionally, Shapley claimed that Weiss sought special counsel status, which would have granted him broader authority to bring charges, but his request was denied.

Attorney General Merrick Garland responded to some of the whistleblower accusations on Friday, including denying that Weiss ever requested special counsel status. Garland stated, “He was given complete authority to make all decisions on his own,” Garland also said. “I don’t know how it would be possible for anybody to block him from bringing a prosecution given that he has that authority.”

When Bartiromo asked Jordan if he would subpoena Wolf, he indicated that it was a possibility, emphasizing the importance of her testimony for the oversight work of his panel.

“We’re going to explore all options available,” Jordan stated. “We want to talk to her. There’s typically a process you go through before resorting to a subpoena. But if that’s what it takes, we believe it’s crucial to have a conversation with her.”
