“Being in Nashville, even my kids are like, ‘You laugh the whole time. You’re so happy,’” she shared during a recent PetSafe event in Los Angeles celebrating National Dog Day, as reported by E! News.
“It’s because I’m not on guard,” Simpson continued. “I’m surrounded by like-minded people. It’s not about the celebrities—it’s all about the music, the heart, and the genuine conversations.”
The “Irresistible” singer also shared a hilarious anecdote about their rental home experience.
“To prevent waking up with the sun, I used thumb tacks to hang these $40 curtains,” she chuckled. “I even assembled a TV using a butter knife. I was searching for a screwdriver, but ended up going to the wrong place. I went to Walgreens and bought lip gloss instead.”
Simpson has taken a break from performing, but she’s now contemplating a comeback and feeling more confident about it.
“I’m not nervous at all. If you had asked me two years ago when I was discussing a return to music, I would have been frightened. But now, I know exactly what I want,” she expressed.
“I’m building my own platform,” she added. “This time, I’m doing it my way, without a label dictating which song to sing or which producer to work with. It’s all me.”
